Yes, I am quite excited to announce the release of my second collaboration with TASCHEN publishing, “Understanding the World. The Atlas of Infographics”. Looking back at months and months of doing research, collecting material and meeting professionals from the field, I have to say thank you to everyone who was involved in this project.

Also, it was a pleasure again to collaborate with the team at TASCHEN, and in particular with their experienced design editor and man about town, Julius Wiedemann. Together, we selected a collection of infographics to create a panorama of our world, to show the power of infographics to explain complex problems, and to create a broad narrative about the issues we are tackling today. The collection is structured into five large chapters:

The design of the book was again provided by Praline Design, a London-based studio of very gifted people. The style draws on their earlier design for “Information Graphics”, the first book I published with Taschen. So the team behind the two books was exactly the same…
